You should buy these shoes if you are a quick runner

In order to assist the selection of the suitable trail running shoe, training footwear split into some types: balance, motions control, assist, compact along with x-country.

The very first step is choosing the best trail running shoe which fits your biomechanical demands and also the form of training such as surface (road, field, trail, and so on.). The most often run. Another phase should be to be sure you buy the trail running shoe with the correct contour to suit your needs.

For starters here are the 5 types along with information about the type of runners who have to utilize this form of running shoes.

Control of movement: The movements regulate shoes are the most rigorous oriented control your running form. Meant to restrict overpronation (stepping with) the motions control shoes are likely to be heavy but very long-lasting. These can sometimes include features like a medial post (regarding pronation regulate), some sort of sole-media polyurethane and also rubber outsole. The majority are built on a flat foundation, which gives utmost stability and assistance.

You can purchase these shoes if: you need you move in and also regulate and as well enjoy the resilience or if you use supports and wish some sort of sole-media firm along with a deep heel. Or if you are a hefty runner who demands additional strength and control. Runners with flat foot frequently perform better in these footwear.

Stability: The Steadiness of trail running shoes give you a excellent mixture of shock reduction, inside support and durability. To provide stability, these footwear often times have a post half-soled half or twice thickness. These are designed on a semi-curved. They normally are constructed using a semi-curved or bent to help stimulate the movements with the foot which can be ideal for hipopronadores (those whose feet are stiff, immobile). You should obtain these footwear when: you run considerably in therefore you will need shoes using more traction force using more tips and much more resilient protection against bone bruise.

Sport shoes, which allow parents to buy two pairs of shoes of two different sizes

Children grow out of shoes very quickly and parents may think it unnecessary to invest in expensive and supportive shoes at this age. The truth is that kids also need comfortable and supportive shoes that fit correctly. Choosing a smaller size or unsupportive footwear for your child can cause a lot of pain and discomfort for the child. Also wearing worn our shoes can be result in long-term pain and discomfort for the kids and should be avoided.

Choosing the right fit for your child is even more important if your child is involved in sports and needs the extra support. Various companies have developed a whole line up of junior running shoes because they realize the need for it today.

Shoes have also become a status symbol. Junior running shoes are also sold at a higher price range and some parents might not be able to afford new shoes every few months for their kids. Choosing an affordable pair of shoes can be challenging and yet possible.

If you are looking for an affordable air of junior running shoes, parents should avoid going for flashy sets. The flashiest or most expensive pair of shoe, besides being expensive, may not provide the same level of comfort. Therefore, looking for a comfortable and average-priced shoe is the best option for parents.

Since, kids grow out of their shoes very fast, there is not point buying shoes for kids in advance. Also, parents should take their kids along with them when buying shoes for them. It is important that your kids try out the shoes before you purchase it. Shoes can be bought online only after confirming the correct size.

Parents should keep a lookout for discount and other offers in stores and other online sites that can get them a good deal on junior running shoes. Keeping track of sales in the holiday season can help you choose an affordable and comfortable pair for your child. Alternatively make use of coupons and clearance sales in stores so that you can get a branded pair of footwear and do not have to spend a great deal on junior running shoes.

Some online sites have flexible return and exchange policies which allow parents to buy two pairs of shoes of two different sizes and return one after confirming which one fits best. Buying the right shoe is important. You should not ignore the comfort of your child and make them wear old or uncomfortable shoes. Buy a few pairs every season and replace them as soon as it gets worn out or your kids grow out of them.

We're a little less than a month away from the official start of our eight-week triathlon running shoes

We're a little less than a month away from the official start of our eight-week triathlon training program -- that means it's time to evaluate your fitness level and make sure you'll be ready to go on Day 1 of training. (For those who haven't peeked at the plan, that means you should be able to jog for 30 minutes at a time, two days a week.)

If you haven't been for a run in ages, now's the time to start working your way up to this level. And even if you have been running, it's a good time to evaluate your footwear and make sure the shoes you're wearing are keeping you comfortable and injury-free.

5 Toe Shoes for Women

Walk into any running or sports store and it's enough to make you dizzy -- so many shoes, so many colors and styles, so many different price points; how do you decide? I'm not going to give you actual product recommendations, because what works for me may not work for you. But there are a few things you can do to make sure you get the best shoe for you.

Get to Know Your Feet
First things first: Go to a running or triathlon-specific store, rather than a general sporting goods or shoe store, if you have one in your area. These salespeople are trained to get you in the shoe that's going to work best for you as a runner, and many stores will even test you out on an in-store treadmill to analyze your gait and running patterns.

But even before that, there are things you can do at home to learn more about these incredible instruments that will eventually carry you across the finish line. One of those is the "wet test," which will give you a good idea whether you're an over- or under-pronator -- in other words, whether your foot rolls inward, rolls outward, or stays neutral while you walk or run. This will determine what type of support you need in your shoes.

This article suggests checking out your footprints on the bathmat after you get out of the shower; I've also done the wet test on a brown paper bag. You can even trace the outline of your foot and take it in to your running store -- chances are this isn't the first time an experienced salesperson is seeing something like this!

What About Those Barefoot Shoes?
Another thing you can learn about your running technique is whether you tend to land on your heel or your mid-sole. Sprinters and people who run barefoot tend to land lightly on the balls of their feet (but not their toes), and research has shown that this way of running is much less stressful on the body than landing hard on your heels. Take notice the next time you go for a jog, or ask a friend to watch your footfalls.

Those trendy minimalist shoes help train you to land on the balls of your feet. But the downside is that if you wear them and continue to land hard on your heels, you'll be very uncomfortable -- and at even greater risk for injury. Most traditional running shoes, on the other hand, have a built-up, cushioned heel to protect heel strikers from injury and discomfort. (How well they actually protect you, however, is a matter of much debate in the running world.)

If you've been running with no injuries or no discomfort, there's probably no reason for you to change shoes or worry about your stride. But if you've experienced injuries -- or are curious about how to switch up your running technique -- ask a salesperson about a shoe that can train you to gradually transition to mid-sole running.

Note my stress on the word gradually: Running in these shoes works entirely different muscles than walking, and you'll need to build up strength and endurance slowly. (The first time I went running in my Merrell Pace Gloves -- which I now love -- I overdid it and my calves ached for a week!)

Stick with It
Once you find the right shoe for you, you can likely continue buying the same brand and model over and over again. Because they'll change little from year to year, it cuts down on the time needed to break in a new pair. Replace shoes every 350 to 550 miles (write the date you bought them on the bottom in permanent marker so you have a good idea of how many miles you've logged), or when you notice significant or very uneven wear on the treads.

That's what I love most about running shoes: For the last four years, I've walked into my local running store and asked for the same pair of shoes every time (they're Mizunos, if you're wondering) -- no trying stuff on, no picking out a color, no decisions to be made. They even know me well enough now that they'll let me know when my shoes are going on sale, so I can stock up!

Some of my friends had been asking me about my secrets for having best running shoes

Some of my friends had been asking me about my secrets for having ZERO blister after reading about my unsuccessful attempt at last month's Canadian Death Race. Well I'm not too sure what's my secret. It could be due to my hardened feet although it was more likely due to the type of socks and/or shoes that I wore during the race. You see, despite CDR being a wet, muddy race this year, I completed 110km out of 125km using just 1 pair of socks and 1 pair of trail shoes! :)

Drymax Socks
The first time I heard of the Drymax socks was while reading my first subscription issue of the 2011 Mar's Ultra Running magazine. The advertisement included the feet of Jamie Donaldson after she had completed the 2008 Badwater race - a pair of blister free feet immediately after 135 miles through Death Valley. She said "...... In 2008, I made the switch to Drymax Maximum Protection socks and have been blister free with zero tape or lube ever since. I love my Drymax socks!" "Hmmm, that sounds great!" - I thought to myself. Although I won't say I was bothered by persistent blister problem, it was always nice to find a product that claimed to be the best in the market. This year, I had zero blister after completed Mar's 16-hour Twilight Ultra Challenge (85km), Apr's TNF100 Philippines (100km) and May's Comrades Marathon (87km), while I had a couple after completing Jan's Hong Kong Ultra Trail (100km) and Jun's Sundown Ultramarathon (100km). The worse was Feb's Bataan Death March (100 Miles) as I had more than 10 blisters on both my feet, despite changing to a new pair of socks and shoes.

I decided to give Drymax socks a try. With my 20% discount from signing up TNF100 Singapore, I went to Funan Centre's Running Lab and bought 2 pairs of Hot Weather Running Drymax Socks (S$29 a pair) and 2 pairs of Hyper Thin Running Drymax Socks (S$19 a pair). (Running Lab also sells the Running Lite-Mesh Drymax Socks for S$16 a pair on top of these two versions of the Drymax socks. The Lite Trail Running Drymax Socks has also arrived since mid-August for S$19 a pair.) I tried both version of Drymax socks for most of my runs in July, including the last TNF Run Series - Woodcutter's Trail Run. Drymax looked and felt more thick than my other running socks and I had my doubts early on as I loved thin socks. But after wearing the socks in my running shoes, I didn't felt as thick. In fact, the socks was fitting, soft and breathable. The Woodcutter's Trail Run was the longest distance I ran using the Drymax socks - about 14km. The socks did what it was supposed to do and given the distance I ran in, I would give Drymax socks a solid but not so spectacular 6/10.

Hot Weather Running Drymax Socks

For CDR, I chose to wear the Hyper Thin version instead of the Hot Weather version since it was cooler in Canada and less humid than in Singapore. During the first 3 Legs of the race, I stepped into numerous mud pools along a distance of 67km. At the Leg 3/Leg 4 exchange area, I took a longer rest to refuel. I checked on both my feet and they were perfect. No blister. :) I decided to push on using the same socks and shoes. For the rest of my journey up and down Mt Hammel and up to the carpark just before the river crossing, I covered another 43km, mostly in raining condition. Occasionally, small stones and pebbles would jump into my shoes. I pushed on until designated check-points, where I could remove them. At the emergency aid station where runners were permitted a drop bag, I wasn't able to find mine for a change of dry socks and shoes. To save time, I pressed on after removing more stones and pebbles from my shoes. My final 7km (from start of Leg 5 to carpark before river crossing) was the worse as the trail was so soft and slippery. In a few occasions, my feet sank into the mud and I had to grab on to whatever I could find to pull myself up the short segment of slopes. When I got back, I thought I might have a few blisters but magically, I had none! Drymax scored a perfect 10/10 for me!

Hyper Thin Running Drymax Socks

The North Face - Sentinel Trail Running Shoes
As one of TNF Run Leader (more of sweeper role), I was given a pair of TNF Sentinel Running Shoes. I felt great the moment I tried on the shoes, and even greater when I took it for a trail run. It also felt lighter than my other TNF Rucky Chucky Trail Running Shoes, although both weighs 10 oz (per side). While Rucky Chucky looked and felt rugged and heavy, Sentinel looked and felt lighter and had sufficient support to execute nimble, fast footsteps.

My Blue Color TNF Sentinel (also available in Aloy Grey/Blitz Blue or Q-Sliver Grey/Melon Red)

I didn't have many opportunities to try it out in Singapore before CDR and I certainly won't run into puddles of water or muddy terrain unless I absolutely could not avoid them. But during the recce for the Woodcutter's Trail Run and the actual run, chances presented as we tried our best to jump over the muddy terrain. At the end of the run, I didn't feel my feet being overly hot or having excess water (from sweat and water in the muddy terrain). So I guessed this meant that the TNF Sentinel had enough breathability due to their so called "multiple-weave engineered mesh found on the shoe's upper". Whether it was on dry or wet road, dry or muddy trail, the grip of the TNF Sentinel did a fine job. Going up and down steep incline was okie too but it was slightly more tricky on sandy, dry steep slopes. Tough trails Vibram Five Fingers Men's (those strewn with rocks or roots) were also easily overcome but that's if you run / jog at my kind of slow speed over the rough terrain. All in all, I'll give the TNF Sentinel a strong 7/10. (Note: as all of us have different feet type and shape, its very hard to recommend a good running shoes, as compared to recommending a good pair of running socks. Socks are soft and will wrap around and fit onto the shape of your feet but for shoes, it's the other way round. I.e. you have to find a pair of shoes that your feet will fit into it.)

Its a slow transition, the first time I got out of my point killers rather than these running shoes

Its a slow transition, the first time I got out of my point killers, I ran 1.4 miles and my calves were DONE for about 3 days, but, that is what it takes, I am still breaking them in today, I will not run in another pair of joint killers again. We are not designed for it.I try my best to get everybody in the gym out of the massive heal cushion of the latest running shoe, its bad for your health………………….
Which was invented by NIKE great for them, bad for us…the impact on your legs from running can be up to 12 times your weight, so it’s naive to believe a half-inch of rubber is going to make a difference.

Your foot’s centrepiece is the arch, the greatest weight-bearing design ever created, we should use it, How interesting is it that also studies have found that the more expensive the shoe, the more likely you are going to get injured, the more crap on the bottom of the sole the more beating your poor joints take…

Lets make things worse, the companies also say you should change every 300-500 miles, Arthur Newton, one of the greatest ultrarunners of all time, who broke the record for the 100-mile Bath-London run at the age of 51, never replaced his thin-soledcanvas pumps until he’d put at least 4,000 miles on them?

Are you injured, your joints hurt,,do you run, on these shoes, heel striking???? Probably the cause, more harm then good. So how do you fix this problem??? re-Teach yourself how to run, slowly, it takes time. Essentially you have put your foot in a cast and caused atrophy to the muscles that are supposed to be used.

In the past few years, a trend of super-sizing sports equipment like tennis racquets without running shoes

In the past few years, a trend of super-sizing sports equipment like tennis racquets, golf clubs, and downhill skis has caught on with consumers. Whether it’s more power, more speed, or an ease-of-use upgrade, there’s little wonder why the enlargement effect has resonated in American culture, where “bigger-better-faster!” verges on a national theme.

This leitmotif historically has not flown in the footwear world. Until now. Coming from an Italian company known domestically most for its downhill ski-boot line, Tecnica this spring unveiled a spread of mega-size shoes made for running on trails outside.

Tecnica large size trail running shoes

Super-size: Tecnica’s Diablo MAX shoe (in black and red)

Touted to have oversize geometry, copious cushioning, and a 30-percent bigger footprint overall, the Tecnica trail-running shoes come in men’s and women’s models. Benefits to the uber-shoes, Tecnica cites, include greater stability, better absorption, and a “rolling transition” sole design that promises more propulsion as you run.

I tested the Diablo MAX shoe model, one of the giants in the line. It has a bulbous appearance, and at first glance I was almost embarrassed to wear them outside. The Tecnicas looked like “toning” footwear, a shoe category with rocking-chair-like soles now popular with people trying to lose weight.

Sucking in some pride, I trotted out for a trail run one day. As a dedicated runner, as well as an adherent to lightweight shoes and a soft-on-the-feet stride, I had low expectations for the Tecnicas. On my scale, each Diablo MAX shoe (men’s size 12.5) registered at 14.6 ounces — as heavy as some hiking boots I own.

But on that first run the Diablo MAX shoes exceeded my expectations by a big margin. Though I felt high off the ground — they have extra-thick soles — the shoes never felt unstable. They gripped the trail with tiny rubber lugs. The extra cushiness underfoot protected from bumps and sharp rocks.

Tecnica large size trail running shoe.jpg

Sole view, Tecnica Diablo MAX

I have now run a few times with the Diablo Max shoes. The biggest surprise has been that they do not dramatically manipulate my stride. Other bulky shoes I have tested essentially force you to land on your heel with each stride, creating a slow and inefficient gait. But the Tecnica design, despite a promise of a “rolling transition” effect, allows for a faster mid-foot strike.

At $130, the Diablo shoes are not cheap. For running shoes, they are heavy, too. But the Diablos are comfortable and super protective. If you’re in need of extra cushion without losing responsiveness underfoot — or perhaps “bigger-better-faster” is just how you roll! — then Tecnica’s big new shoe might be a fit for you.

The difference between the two pair was like the difference between a sports car and a sport shoe

The difference between the two pair was like the difference between a sports car and a minivan. One of my favorite aspects of Mizuno’s running shoes is their signature Wave Plate-a firm TPU plastic plate that runs along the middle of the shoes soles. When combined with the shoes’ EVA cushioning, the Wave plate adds stbility, support, and - in the case of their trail shoes - a good measure of rock protection.

Over the last seven years, Mizuno has been working on their high-end tunning shoe, the Wave Prophecy. Sporting a radically different design, the Wave Prophecy represents the next evolution of their Wave Plate technology. Doing away with most of the shoe’s EVA foam cushioning, the Prophecy’s outsole is composed almost entirely of the Infinity Wave Plate, which consists of two full-length TPU plates connected at several points from end to end. The wave plate is designed to absorb impact and provide a more durable shoe and a more responsive feel.

Last March, I received a test pair of the Prophecys. While I was excited to try out this unique-looking shoe, I had my doubts. Although the shoe’s looks are intriguing, I wondered whether or not the shoes could live up to the hype (and their $200 price tag).

During my first few runs, the first thing I noticed was that despite the lack of foam cushioning, the shoes actually absorbed shock very well. The shoes did feel stiffer than most shoes that I’ve tired, but the Infinity Wave Plate acted like a leaf spring, contracting with the footstrike and rebounding at the toe-off. I was fine with the amount of cushioning, but people who want a cushy shoe might find it too firm for their tastes.

The Prophecys sport a firm forefoot section, which flexes to a point, then becomes rigid, adding power to the toe-off. The shoe had a very quick feel despite its relatively heavier weight (15oz for my size 11).

The shoe’s Dynamotion Fit upper is designed to fit like a second skin, expanding and contracting with the foot’s skin as it goes through the running motion. It feels like a very breathable sock, and it kept hot spots and blisters a bay during runs from 2-mile runs to 12-plus mile runs.

It’s also a good idea to keep in mind that EVA foam is what generally breaks down in a running shoe, hence the need to replace running shoes every 350 miles or so. With the Prophecy’s noted lack of EVA foam, the shoes have the potential to significantly outlast their predecessors.

created at: 2011/05/16

I wanted to make sure that I wasn’t experiencing some sort of placebo effect, so I took a few runs in my old shoes with the regular EVA foam. They felt softer, but now they felt too soft; it was like running in mud. The Prophecys took things to a whole new level for me; my old running shoes (my old favorite running shoes, I might add) felt nigh unwearable.

Purchasing sneakers that have already been worn is not because his running shoes

Purchasing sneakers that have already been worn is not. When you understand the tricks involved, you can obtain high quality footwear for a very low price. Are you a man? Best Men Running ShoesTo know that you have the best deal, buy from a store that has a good exchange policy. You want to test your running shoes in about a week and if you develop blisters, you will want to return them and get another pair. The good thing is that many running shoes stores for men have a fantastic exchange policy. But it is always better to buy the perfect shoes for your feet by giving the salesperson the relevant information about your running style and habits. This can make buying the right shoes easy.

Buying the best running shoes for men should be easy if you are not a beginner. Bring your old pair of running shoes with you to the store so that you get another pair just like it. Never should you base your choice of running shoes on color and style. Just because a pair of shoes looks fabulous on the dummy does not mean that it will be ok for your feet. Carry your orthotic insoles with you to the store if you use such. Happy running!

As gasoline prices continue to rise and employment issues remain, more people want to know how to save money on running shoes. This is a common need. Being a runner is cheap and easy. You simply need a watch, a notebook to keep track of your fitness goals and a good pair of sneakers.

It is critical to have a good set of accessories to race in. Many top quality footwear models do not come cheap. However, you can get an excellent pair without laying down a large amount of cash.

The best tip to finding excellent generic footwear is to look for the essential parts of the name brand ones. It is always essential for a running shoe to be light in weight. The shoe must also have a generous amount of shock absorbing matter under the heel and front of the foot.

All good running sneakers must contain less leather than they do fabric. A shoe that is mostly leather will weigh down the shoe, the foot and the runner. Fabric is much lighter and facilitates faster movements. Every racing sneaker you think about purchasing must contain those perfect characteristics.

It is fair to state that it is not necessary to spend a large amount of funds to own good footwear. While the name brands usually have all of those characteristics, many bargain brands do too. You should understand the steps involved in locating them.

The best method for doing that is to take an expensive model and compare it to the bargain brands. If you find a model among those brands that has all the necessary features outlined above, you can get a good deal. Some generic models are every bit as good as the famous ones are.

One word of caution must be given. You may save a lot of funds by purchasing bargain brand footwear. That is the only way you should try to obtain cheap footwear.

Some folks try to spend less cash on racing sneakers by purchasing a used pair. These people research them at online auction sites. They hunt for them at all of the thrift stores they can drive to. Those are very bad ideas. Each time a racing sneaker is worn, part of its shock absorbers get destroyed. When you purchase a set of used ones, there is no way to determine how well they can still absorb racing impact.

It is important to know how to save money on running shoes the right way. Buying a bargain brand of sneakers that are as good as the other types is an excellent idea.

By taking the AT&T promotion code into account, you can really get used to the internet connection that’s faster and also cheaper, which will let you find coupons for running shoes much faster.

Just because you want the flexibility to use all of your foot’s barefoot shoes

Is running an extreme sport to you? Do you like running long distances and discovering new things in the world? Most long distance runners find that they spend a lot of time waiting for injuries to heal before they can tackle the next challenge. Barefoot running shoes, however, promise to reduce the number of injuries that runners experience so that they can dedicate themselves to more extreme events.

The Advantage of Running Barefoot

Barefoot runners claim that running without shoes is actually better for their feet. In some cases, running barefoot could even help avoid injuries. Modern running shoes are designed to absorb impact in a way that does not relate to the way that foot design withstands impact. When you eliminate the shoe, your feet can conform to a variety of surfaces without experiencing any trauma.

Barefoot Running Shoes

Just because you want the flexibility to use all of your foot’s muscles while you run, does not necessarily mean that you want the soles of your feet in direct contact with the ground, especially if you often find yourself running on hot pavement. Barefoot running shoes are designed to allow your feet to move on their own while protecting them from hot pavement, glass shards, needles, and other items that might hurt you during a run.

Are barefoot running shoes better than traditional running shoes? Some people say that running barefoot (or nearly barefoot) has changed their lives by helping them avoid injuries and develop muscles that they did not even know they had before.

Are you willing to try barefoot running shoes to see how well they could work for you?

We found four reviews of these running shoes from customers online. 3 gave the Men's Asics Gel-Nimbus the highest marks. One reviewer gave them the lowest rating.

The 3 that liked these running shoes remarked on their comfort and fit. One customer was a repeat customer who went back to Asics after his old pair began to wear. Here's what he had to say...

"Started running regularly again over the past few months, but my old Asics weren't holding up after a couple of years. I Decided to go with Asics again and I'm happy I did.

So far they have been awesome for running (e.g. light, flexible, supportive.) Mine fit great and they seem to run true to size, I have a very wide size 15 foot and the 15/ 4E was perfect. I Would recommend these or other Asics to anybody for running etc."

The single reviewer that was unhappy with his Asics warned...

"I wore a pair of Asics Gel 1160's for 2 months and the mesh part near the toes ripped completely in half. The shoes look like they were chewed by an animal of some sort but have only experienced moderate use. I have wore asics before for trail running, distance, mud races ect and have never had a problem like with this particular pair/model of shoe. I e-mailed the Company offering them a chance to rectify the situation with no response. I would avoid these shoes as they are not extremely durable. "

So why wait? Today there are many sports companies selling these shoes

So why wait? Today there are many sports companies selling these shoes in the market, and one can easily buy a pair off the shelf from any of the sporting stores of companies like Brooks, New balance, Vebram etc. Judging by the huge response generated by, and to, the concept of minimalistic shoes, health watchers and the global sports industry in general feel that minimalistic running shoes is an idea whose time is now. This is because after decades and decades of churning shoes with all possible colours and comforts, there is today a big push, both within the industry and from users across the world to go back to the basics, to do things like walking and running the way our bodies were naturally supposed to do them.

This is where minimalist shoes come into the picture, because these one-of-a-kind shoes take us the closet to bare feet walking and running, something which are feet where originally designed to do. Things like fancy shoes and socks are all inventions of men to make their running and walking exercises more pleasant and less taxing.
But when you think about it, you realise that all these fashionable new shoes and their accompanying paraphernalia has not really done much for your feet, as globally complaints of leg ache, cramps and foot sprains have only increased over the years.

Hence, the call for designing and creating these minimalistic shoes, which ensure that all the muscles in your legs and feet get a complete workout every time you take even the smallest of walks.Minimalistic running shoes, in particular, promise to ‘stretch and strengthen new muscles in your feet and lower legs to help you become more in tune with the running experience’.

Often overlooked, generally because of the higher price tag

As ever we’ve kept the review as unbiased as possible and we hope it is of some use. If we only manage to convert one runner to the powers of running socks we will have succeeded! Often overlooked, generally because of the higher price tag, running socks can make a huge difference to your running experience. We’re always amazed by people spend over £60+ on running shoes but get their socks from Primani for under a £1.

Trust us when we say running specific socks are worth the extra investment even if you stretch the boat out to £3 you will literally feel the benefit! Running specific socks are designed to keep your feet cool and dry, hence reducing the likelihood of blisters. Some even promise to keep your feet from smelling. Heck some even promise fatigue reduction, stability and increased performance but we took that with a pinch of salt!
Here is our run down of some of the best socks currently available.

Sealskinz Lightweight Socklets – RRP £22.00
These may be the most expensive socks you will ever own but during the wet Winter months your feet will thank you for it! As with all SealSkinz socks these are 100% waterproof so you can save a bit of money by not buying GoreTex shoes. However, unlike other SealSkinz socks these feel like a running sock. They are lightweight, have a lovely merino wool liner for comfort and wick reasonably well.

1000 Mile ‘Tactel’ Ultimate Technical Racing Trainer Liner Socklet – RRP £8.99
These socks were awesome during the Summer months. There is just enough sock to provide the necessary comfort but not too much as to make your feet suffocate. The double layer means that the inner stays with the foot whilst the outer moves with the shoe. This effectively reduces friction, wicks moisture away and reduces wear.
1000 Mile will also put their wallet where their mouth is and give you a money back or replacement if, within one year from date of purchase, either you experience blisters or the socks wear out within 1000 miles. Sounds like a sadistic challenge to us!

Experia By Thorlo Cushioned Running Micro Mini Crew – RRP £12.50
These are great all rounders. Not everyone likes ankle socks so the Experia are a good compromise. Due to the extra length they are perfectly suited for hiking and provide a bit more protection around the Achilles.
The pads at the front and rear do add to the overall comfort and the “wickability” is second to none!

Under Armour HeatGear Recharge Recovery Compression Socks – RRP £24.00
We blitzed our calf muscles doing a tempo run in order to test these socks. Although we can’t say we felt a significant improvement in the recovery time, they certainly helped us feel more proactive in our recovery and we know many runners that swear by compression socks.
The major advantage of these socks is that they are still lightweight meaning that you also feel comfortable running in them, ideal for the Winter. With recovery gear becoming a staple in most runners kit bags the Recharge socks are good post race option, especially if you have a long drive home after!
Finally a quick mention has to go tofor providing us with the samples to trial.

Do all languages in the world originate from a single "mother tongue"?

Do all languages in the world originate from a single "mother tongue"?

By studying phonemes – the consonants, vowels and tonal elements of languages, biologist Quentin D. Atkinson has claimed to discover that human languages originated in Africa:

Dr. Atkinson, an expert at applying mathematical methods to linguistics, has found a simple but striking pattern in some 500 languages spoken throughout the world: A language area uses fewer phonemes the farther that early humans had to travel from Africa to reach it.

Some of the click-using languages of Africa have more than 100 phonemes, whereas Hawaiian, toward the far end of the human migration route out of Africa, has only 13. English has about 45 phonemes.

This pattern of decreasing diversity with distance, similar to the well-established decrease in genetic diversity with distance from Africa, implies that the origin of modern human language is in the region of southwestern Africa, Dr. Atkinson says in an article published on Thursday in the journal Science.

Men’s nike free run+ 2010 shoe in gray and red with black is an iconic brand

Men’s nike free run+ 2010 shoe in gray and red with black is an iconic brand with a large market share worldwide. However like all other shoe companies it has shoes that are hits and misses. I wanted to review the Nike Air Structure Triax Men’s shoe. This is shoe is a running shoe and is a long standing model at Nike. Writing a review on shoes is a bit tricky because people are different and will experience a shoe in different ways cheap air max 90 . It’s why we tend to take longer purchasing shoes than other clothing purchases. I try to take this into account writing this review and look at other people’s reactions to balance my reactions.

Personally I found the shoe reasonably comfortable on regular use. As a runner and walker I kept in mind what I wanted from the shoe. First, I wanted a shoe with great comfort. I run on average 6 miles a day and found that without proper support you can really feel the pain in the arches of your foot. In general support was fine. Nike’s patented Air heel technology made the shoe comfortable over long distances puma ferrari shoes . The shoe was also great on the socks with its inner lining. The big thing I found interesting was the sole’s durability with Duralon being used for the forefoot and BRS 1000 in the heel. Durability is a quality I like in any shoe I wear especially in a Men’s nike free run+ 2010 shoe in grey and black with orange.

Looking at other wearer’s reactions I found that some interesting things that they all had in common. First off the biggest complaint was fit. A lot of customers say that the shoe can be a bit tight. They also were concerned with the actual durability when used under actual road conditions. An interesting indication about the shoe’s durability is that a lot of people saw this shoe as more of a fashion shoe than an actual running shoe. I wouldn’t base my own assessment only on that as frankly as Nike shoes became more popular they have become fashion statements. Just look at the Nike Air Jordan. How many guys really use those for basketball puma ferrari 2011 ? Honestly? All the same I did take notice. The most serious complaint I saw was that the shoe is not friendly on individual’s over developed arches. Some complained that on continued wearing of the shoe that they experience shin splints and pain in the knees. Since there are considerable number of people with this condition it might affect the general reception of the shoe as one used for serious running.

In the end the shoe seems to be pretty solid and if anything speaks for it then nothing does better than sales. The shoe is already sold out on several websites. So it definitely has some qualities that are attractive to customers.

Working out is fun, healthy, and help you to look good

Working out is fun, healthy, and help you to look good. But if you’re anything like me you want to look great in the gym and not just after you leave! I adore the new lines of cute, functional workout clothes, but the one thing I’ve struggled with, is shoes. What are the best shoes for running? I certainly can’t wear my heels and I know that what’s on your feet can make or break your workout. Injuries are no laughing matter and it’s important to find the right fit, and maybe, if we’re lucky they can be stylish too. With all the different styles and brands out there I’ve made a list of what you should be looking for in a great running shoe.

1. Cushioned Shoes. If you’re a runner who is looking for the maximum cushioning for your midsole and less cushioning for medial support (that’s your arch-side) than cushioned shoes are the right fit for you. Runners with moderate to high arches usually do best in cushioned shoes.

2. Performance Training Shoes. These are for runners who want light, well balanced shoes for daily training or something more like racing and speed work. A Performance Training Shoe delivers what the name promises and it best for fast runners who want to train and have their shoes keep up with them.

3. Motion Control Shoes. These are best suited for larger, heavier runner who needs that extra support and long lasting durability. Many times these runners have low arches, also known as flat feet.

4. Racing Shoes. If you don’t have current injuries, and you want a fast, efficient stride than Racing shoes could be a great shoe for you. They are very fast and lightweight and many runners use them exclusively for racing.

5. Trail Shoes. If you are an off road runner or hiker than these rugged traction shoes are perfect. They also have weather resistant qualities and are built low to the ground for added stability on trails.

You see barefoot running shoes everywhere now

You see barefoot running shoes everywhere now. But could they be dangerous, or good for your feet? 3 On Your Side Health Reporter Stephanie Stahl takes a closer look.

It’s the hottest new trend in sneakers. They feel like almost nothing.

“There’s nothing better than going barefoot. But frankly, I don’t want to stub my toe or step on a piece of glass,” said Meaghan Murphy, Self magazine’s Fitness Director.

All the major manufacturers are making them. Lightweight, minimalist shoes that mimic the feel of barefoot running, but protect your feet.

“They let your foot move the way they were made to move. So you’re running a little tippy toed. So there’s less impact on your joints,” said Meaghan.

The new barefoot sneakers have flatter soles so that you feel closer to the ground, and less padding frees the feet and lets them move in multiple directions.

‘There’s a lot more flexibility in the foot than people first realized. So the idea is to allow your shoe to move exactly as your foot designed,” said Bill McInnis with Reebok.

And there may be another benefit.

‘These let all of those little tiny muscles activate and start doing the work. You’re burning a few more calories. You’re getting a more natural forefoot strike,” said Meaghan.

Veteran runner Carlos Rodriguez says he experimented with barefoot running for several months to ease his knee pain.

“This just gives me protection from rocks. Once you get the lean and proper technique you almost feel like you’re just flying across the ground,” said Carlos.

Some runners believe the movement is less jarring to the joints. But podiatrist Christopher Ferguson says the shoes may cause other problems.

“Stress fractures, bunions, hammertoes, tendinitis, problems like that. Some people are even touting that it might even increase the impact in the forefoot. But we don’t know. There are no studies on it yet,” said Dr. Ferguson.

That’s happening right now. Research is underway to compare injury rates between the new minimalist shoes and standard sneakers.

No diet program in the world can do it all, but Trimspa comes close

No diet program in the world can do it all, but Trimspa comes close. The road to better health and losing weight, however, lies in a careful balance of activity, dieting and mental outlook. When the other things are combined, programs like Trimspa can work wonders in helping a dieter meet or exceed personal goals. When they're not, success is a hard achievement.

Diet pills in and of themselves are designed to fool the body into thinking it's not hungry. Diet programs that take advantage of hunger reduction along with exercise and smart eating are more likely to be successful. This is just a simple fact. No one likes to exercise and chocolate almost assuredly looks better than a grapefruit, but good choices tend to net good returns.

It's a simple fact of dieting that one of the biggest pitfalls for dieters is the feeling of hunger. This, when left unchecked, leads to cravings. These, of course, lead to eating things that aren't necessarily the best choice for dieters.

In general, a good regime for those who are taking diet pills, such as Trimspa, includes exercise, smart food choices and a positive outlook. Weight loss goals generally are not reached overnight. And, for any diet to be truly successful, long-term weight loss needs to be the focus.

Before running out and starting a diet and exercise plan, smart weight loss candidates first seek medical advice. Find out from a physician what exercise is appropriate and what goals are reasonable. With a clean bill of health, it's time to start making that weight disappear.

On the exercise front, it's important to choose a routine that can be easily stuck to come rain or shine. This might include a gym membership, or simple stretching and running at home. Or, it could even include the addition of a few good pieces of home gym equipment that will get used. Don't forget that exercise should be fun and it should be challenging. This means working every muscle group in the body, including the heart, and doing so on a regular basis. Just exercising the arms, for example, won't help with overall appearance improvements. Those who want to create a smart program for exercise find things that are fun and challenging both to increase the chances of sticking with a program.

On the diet front, while weight loss pills like Trimspa will help with the cravings, it's up to you to make the good choices. Consider smaller portions and eat foods that are healthy - most of the time. We all need to splurge now and again. Deprive your body of a tiny bite of cake and you'll find yourself overdoing when you do decide to dive into sweets. It's okay to enjoy foods in moderation; it's not okay to go on a binge.

Weight loss isn't an impossible undertaking when smart choices are put into action. A good mix of healthy eating, a bit of exercise and the help of diet programs such as Trimspa can really help. The key to long-term results is combining smart choices and lifestyle changes.

In the woods and fields and camping grounds there are certain rules

In the woods and fields and camping grounds there are certain rules to be obeyed, certain laws to be respected. Like most rules and laws, there is a good reason for them. You already know that you must put out your fires completely and not trespass on private property, nor will you harm a living tree. As you feel more and more at home in the out-of-doors, you will be able to make your own list of do's and don'ts. But here are a few tips to help you improve your camping skills.

The rabbit bears four to five litters of one to five young during the year, the first toward the end of February. The doe has one or two fawns in April. The badger has three to five young in February. Everywhere in the woods the young creatures cower in fear, and the older animals worry about their young. You should not frighten them by making noise and beating the bushes.

Don't close the openings of fox and badger burrows, and don't build a fire in front of the burrow. Closing up the openings means starvation for the young, and they would suffocate in the smoke.

Rabbits and deer bring their young into the thickest part of the underbrush for safety when there is a disturbance. For that reason leave these places alone.

Every Indian knows that animals always flee uphill when there is a disturbance. Therefore, if you have to make a lot of noise, do it along the streams and in the hollows. If a mother is forced to leave her young, the babies can easily fall victim to dogs and foxes when they are unprotected and helpless.

Be careful of trees of any age. You can damage a tree even by climbing on it with hobnailed shoes. Woodpiles are the fruit of much hard work. Do not take the result of some stranger's labor.

Light fires only in ditches, stony spots, paths, or sizable clearings. Route signs and no-trespassing posters were not put up as targets for stones. Farmers spend a lot of time and money every year to keep their fences in shape, so do not use them for gym equipment.

If you find young animals out-of-doors, leave them where you find them without touching them. Attempts to raise them at home seldom succeed. As soon as you leave quietly, the mother will return to pick up her young.

When you prove, by following the rules of the woods, that you know how to be considerate and sensible, you will have made friends of the farmers, foresters and all the people who love the forest. And this can only work to your own advantage.

Ancient Rome remains one of the most fascinating and interesting cultures to date

Ancient Rome remains one of the most fascinating and interesting cultures to date. Still studied by thousands of scholars all over the world, there are still many facets of the ancient society that remain a mystery. One of the many areas of study is the type of clothes these people wore, including what they wore on their feet. In this article, we will explore what types of shoes the ancient Romans wore, what they looked like and how they were made.

There were various types of shoes that the Romans wore, however, they most commonly consisted of boots or sandals. The boots looked like a regular boot that consisted of a leather sole, with long leather bands which wrapped around the wearer's feet and legs. However, the feet and legs were never entirely covered, leaving squares of skin exposed. The sandals were similar to this, except they did not cover the wearer's legs. Unlike today's society, ancient Romans placed no emphasis on different styles for men or women. Other than the fact that the boots were worn primarily for soldier's going to battle, there was no distinction between male and female styles. Instead, styles were specially designed for social class. For example, boots worn by older men, were not to be worn by young men. Slaves were never permitted to wear shoes at all, whereas criminals wore shoes unlike anything worn by any other citizen; they wore heavy wooden shoes as so they couldn't escape as easily. People considered very respectable in the community wore shoes at all times and only removed them for important feasts, after slaves would go through elaborate feet washing rituals for them.

The reasons that Roman's chose leather as their material of choice is because leather cuts easily without fraying, so the shoe maker could cut the thin pieces of leather for the straps without worrying about mending any split ends. However, just because the shoes were constructed of leather did not mean there was no skill involved in cutting the leather. Since Roman shoes were made up of extensively intricate designs, even one mis-cut could mean the whole piece of leather would be useless.

The ancient Romans placed a lot of importance on the appearance of their footwear, as well as other aspects of their life, such as their roads, sculptures, clothing and kitchen supplies. This is just a brief introduction to ancient Roman shoes, but as you can see, as the Romans were a fascinating culture, and so were their shoes.

The treadmill was one of the first pieces of home fitness equipment appealing to walkers

The treadmill was one of the first pieces of home fitness equipment appealing to walkers, joggers, runners and a wide range of people. The home treadmill has experienced substantial growth over the past few years. Among other things the home exercise treadmill is the ultimate piece of equipment for a cardiovascular workout.

With treadmills you need to watch out for the impact involved when your feet hit the belt; your body absorbs up to two and a half times your body weight. AC motors that are found in some treadmill units run at one continuous speed and rely on a transmission to regulate speed whereas units powered by DC motors use variable voltage to regulate the speed at which the belt spins.

A well-constructed treadmill is a piece of home exercise equipment that every member of your family can enjoy.

A pre-programmed workout registers your heart rate without being connected to the treadmill by a cord or wire. The newest models of treadmills come with many extra features. One feature that is absolutely necessary in a home treadmill is an emergency stop button or a safety key that automatically shuts off the power if you should stumble, trip or fall.

Using a heart rate monitor enables a treadmill to automatically adjust the speed and/or the incline to keep your heart rate within the most optimum zone. One of the key things to remember is that the larger motors tend to run cooler and usually require less repair and maintenance. Display panels should be easy to read and straightforward to operate.

Notice that some treadmill heart rate monitors clip onto an ear or, for more accurate readings, strap on to the chest. The deck is the belt area on which actual running, jogging and walking take place.

A major consideration when buying a treadmill is the construction of the machine. You'll want a treadmill with an aluminum or high alloy steel frame that's strong enough to support the heaviest runner who'll be using it.Probably the most important thing to look for in a treadmill is how sturdy it is.

Noise from the smallest repetitive sound can drive you nuts over a period of time and provide you with one more reason not to exercise. One indication of the likely longevity of any treadmill is to check out the length of the manufacturer's warranty; the longer the better. If you can afford to buy a treadmill with a heart rate monitor, it'll be a good investment in your health.

To make sure that your treadmill is sturdy and comfortable and doesn't operate noisily, step on it and test it out before you buy. You'll probably want to buy a unit with a motor that delivers 1.5 to 3 continuous horsepower. If you're looking for a cheap treadmill be careful not to believe the marketing hype; the truth is you get what you pay for.

If there's a treadmill you've enjoyed using regularly at your local gym or fitness center check to see if there's a home version available in your price range. If you're looking for a heavy-duty treadmill that can withstand running as well as walking, be prepared to spend more money.

Commercial club treadmills are reliable and well constructed; do look into a home version. If you plan to use a treadmill purely for walking you are not likely to need an expensive top-of-the-line machine.

Running or walking on a treadmill can be an effective way to workout compared to other complex cardiovascular exercises. Better quality treadmills provide excellent cushioning to limit the impact on knees, ankles, hips and lower backs.

Make sure to see your doctor or naturopathic doctor before you start any new fitness or exercise program. If you have severe leg conditions, a treadmill may not be the best choice of home exercise equipment for you.

For most people buying a home exercise treadmill is going to be a major investment. A treadmill is a good investment for anyone who has decided to make a conscious effort to become healthy and fit. Buying a treadmill over the Internet doesn't have to be intimidating when you've done your homework.

When men prepare to go out dancing, they select a nice shirt and nice slacks

When men prepare to go out dancing, they select a nice shirt and nice slacks or jeans and they take care to shave and spray themselves with colognes that have attractive scents. They do their hair and head out to the club, dressed to impress and ready to ask that certain someone to dance. One thing that many men overlook when dressing to go out dancing is their shoes.

Typically they just wear whatever shoes they have in the closet, like sneakers or sandals or even boots. These might be comfortable when you leave the house, but chances are you may come home limping. Even sneakers can hamper the best dancing skills, because they are made for traction and can stick to the floor, ruining your smooth dance moves. It's important to wear shoes that will allow you to move, yet provide your feet with comfort. A leather loafer will provide your feet with both air and room to breath and will allow you to dance without having to focus on your throbbing feet.

Another consideration when it comes to dancing is the dance floor. Many dance studios have floors that are more conducive to dancing in that they have under flooring that provides cushioning. Not all studios have this benefit, having concrete flooring instead. This is why it's always best to wear the proper shoes.

Now before you balk at the idea of going shoe shopping, consider this; the better the shoe, the better you will look on the dance floor. Smooth dancers attract people who want to dance with them, more so than those who are stumbling around. Even worse is to be asked to dance by an attractive person and having to decline because your feet are killing you. Men's dancing shoes come in a wide variety and since the price ranges vary so widely, you have an excellent chance to find one that is within your budget. Some male dancers specialize in a certain type of dancing and there are shoes that are made for these specific dancing styles.

When selecting your shoe, consider ones that have ballet straps. The straps are stabilizing and look great as well. Other dance shoes have features that make the shoe hug the foot, like pumps. There are different types of soles, such as the ones made of suede. The suede sole assists the dancer in being able to move smoothly across the floor and to turn and spin. It is not advisable to wear this type of shoe outside, since the sole can be damaged.

The important thing to keep in mind when you bring home your shoes is to wear them before you go out to break them in. New shoes can be stiff, so let your feet get used to them before you go out to dance. This way you can take the dance floor by storm.

So if you know the essential tips of buying a perfect pair of dress shoes, you will not have to wear those painful and uncomfortable pair of shoes again to your next social gathering.

Let's take a look at the most common points that all women must remember when shopping for dress shoes:

a. It is recommended that you go for 2- inch kitten style heels, which are much firmer and hassle-free, compared to high-heels. Don't worry, like those 4 inch heels, these will also make your feet look sexy but will help you to maintain a better posture. Thus you can spend a lovely evening at ease.

b. If you are looking for fashion, comfort with heels, then wedge heels could be the most ideal pick. These are high-heeled yet very comfortable to walk around in.

c. If money is not an issue for you, then go for high quality, genuine leather shoes. The genuine leather retains the perfect shape of your feet and is always superior to the man-made materials.

d. It is important for you to decide which dress you are going to wear. Only after that do you go about matching shoes. If you find it hard to match a pair of shoes to the color of your outfit, then pick a complimentary color shoe. Classic black dress shoes set the standard for evening attire and they match any dark shade dress. However, you can always go for the soft colors like ivory if your dress is a pastel shade. The soft, warm ivory is always a better choice than pure white.

e. If you want to spend a painless evening, don't buy shoes with straps. They might look appealing but after wearing them for a while, they will start hurting your feet. As a result, the enjoyment of the evening will disappear. So it is better to choose strapless dress shoes, which have a long, sleek look with enclosed toes. Wearing this type of shoes will indeed make your feet look chic.

f. Consider every aspect carefully when buying dress shoes. If you buy the wrong kind of shoes it will spoil the look you want to create. While selecting the perfect pair of dress shoes, you want to be sure that they have soft linings.

g. Last but definitely not the least, the shoes must be properly fitted. Do not be in such a hurry that you buy a size that is either too small or too large.

It is very essential that you to spend the time needed to find the perfect pair of dress shoes. Keeping the above tips in mind while shoe hunting will definitely bring the results you want. You will not regret the time and money spent.

There are many pieces of golf equipment that are unnecessary

There are many pieces of golf equipment that are unnecessary for most golfers. One piece of equipment that doesn't fall in that category are golf shoes. There are many different types of golf shoes on the market, so it's hard to find the right pair for you. This article will endeavor to teach you all you need to know about golf shoes so you can make an informed decision when you decide to go buy a pair.

Golf Shoe Type One

The first type of golf shoes that are very popular amongst many players on the PGA, are studded shoes. Now you're probably wondering "isn't every golf shoe studded?" and you're right. Every golf shoe is studded except the types of studs carry from shoe to shoe. The first one we will be talking about is the metal studded golf shoe. In fact the studs are more like metal spikes and gives players extra grip when they are taking their shot.

Extra grip usually means more balance and a well balanced stance is generally going to create a much smoother and cleaner shot. Lately there has been one concern with metal studded golf shoes and that is the fact they tend to damage greens when players are putting. There is nothing more frustrating for a golfer when their ball strikes a divot in the green when they are putting. It's something that of course has been addressed and with that we can move onto the second type of golf shoe.

Golf Shoe Type Two

The second type of golf shoe that is beginning to become more popular than the first is the rubber studded golf shoe. Most players on the PGA wear a pair of rubber studded golf shoes. Most people who wear them say there is no difference between the level of balance attained from the rubber studs and the metal studs. This is great news because rubber studs tend to make very little if not any damage to the surface of greens. This means that there will be a reduction in the number of balls missing the hole due to divots in the green. This of course is going to save a hec of a lot of frustration for everyone.

Therefore if you are looking to buy a pair of new golf shoes than your best bet is to buy a pair of rubber studded shoes. I mean everyone else is so why not you too!

There are many wonderful excuses for women to find a shoe

There are many wonderful excuses for women to buy shoes; parties, formal occasions, business or pleasure. Regardless of the reason, shopping for dress shoes is in general a fun and exciting task, but it is not easy.

It may sound like a simple task, but I assure you that there are many complex factors to take into account while shopping for shoes, especially for women. It is a known fact that women desire to be unique and fashionable, and they will not settle for anything that might lessen their popularity or their unique look.

With that said, here are a few pointers that will help you in picking out the perfect pair of women's dress shoes.

First, remember that shoes need to complement the rest of the outfit that the lady has chosen to wear. For example, a classic, no frills dress would go perfectly with classic, no frills shoes. A fancy satin dress, on the other hand, would work nicely with an elaborately made pair of shoes, satin uppers, or the like.

Next, pay attention to the type of occasion that the shoes are needed for. Formal dinners may require a more conservative look, while a dress party would allow you to mix things up a bit with some creative colors and unique designs.

As for high heels, it is really up to you, but you should remember that high heels can get very uncomfortable and are not designed to be worn for hours at a time. Moderately sized high heels, or no heel at all, are perfect for more formal occasions.

Pay attention to color. Make sure that the color of the shoes matches with what you are going to wear. You shouldn't have to just wear black shoes all the time, unless formal dinners are all you ever attend, and the only dresses you have are pure black as well. Color, when used properly, makes a great impact.

So shopping for shoes it not easy, but it certainly is fun. The key to successful shoe shopping is to always have a good time, and do not be afraid to try new things. Shopping is a great way to bring up your spirits. Trying on clothes and comparing the outfits and finding what is best for you can be more than therapeutic. Shoes are a big part of the whole fashion scene, so it is very important that shoppers have the tools necessary to pick the right shoes for the right occasion.

And one more thing; shoes come in pairs, and so should you! When you head out to go shopping, bring a friend with you. Never shop alone! Take someone with you who can offer some advice and give an honest opinion.
